Kirsty & Stephens wedding at The Lodge, Nr Argyll Scotland (part one)

In October I ventured up to Loch Goil, Argyll in Scotland for a beautiful intimate wedding of my best friend Kirsty and her now husband Stephen. Obviously the wedding was special to me, Kirsty and I have been best friends since we were in university halls in rooms next door to each other.

When she got engaged earlier this year, shortly after us, I was very excited. Her hubby Stephen and her always knew they wanted something small so when she saw The Lodge's treehouse on a website, it was the perfect setting for her 14 strong wedding.

Not only did I photograph her wedding but I helped her plan bits and style the venue. Before the wedding I collected lanterns, candles and wicker hearts and filled Stephens car to the brim!

Obviously I took hundreds of shots over the weekend and sadly I couldn't possible share them all but Ill share some of my personal favourites over three parts...

The scenery looked like it was straight from a painting, it was breathtaking

The treehouse itself is the only one in the world you can get married in, it was stunning and the views are amazing across the Loch

At the end of the estate rests the summerhouse, where Kirsty and Stephen stayed on their first night, it was so cute!!

The dining room was filled with copper vases with vast arrangements of thistles

I couldnt resist this phone in my room, and found it amusing that it was originally from Southend in Essex

The main house is filled with all original artifacts and furniture, its a treasure trove of wonderful things!

Typewriters, perfect for an old fashioned guest book notes....

Kirsty's sister Nicole made an array of cupcakes for them as a surprise!

Working for WEDDING and WEDDING FLOWERS magazines means I often get asked advice on friends weddings. Kirsty wasnt sure what to do with her flowers and wanted something Scottish appropriate. I suggested combining heather in her corsages and bouquet, not only is it scottish as well as pretty and feminine, but her mum's name is Heather so I thought it was very apt!

Stephen and George looking very dapper!

Suzann waits with her camera ready for Kirsty to come down

Kirsty bought her two sisters, Samantha and Nicole (who were bridesmaids) pretty art nouveau style necklaces

Nicole's stunning bouquet of freesias and roses

The girls with their mum get escorted to the treehouse by the piper

Kirsty arrives to greet her handsome groom Stephen and its all smiles and laughter...

More to come. Enjoy!
