SAFARI HONEYMOON

Being photographers on our honeymoon, to us Safari was a natural choice. Neither of us had ever had the chance to go and it really was a once in a lifetime holiday. We found the whole holiday with Magical Kenya (the Kenyan tourist board) and the help of my wonderful travel editor at WEDDING magazine.

The first part of our honeymoon was at Sanctuary Retreats in Kenya. Especially on request here are a few of our photos, more to follow...

Lions really are lovely lazy creatures. We had our own private guide, who was amazing. He found this beautiful pride of lions, no-one else was around so they just lay basking in the morning sun.

The giraffes are a special request for twitter... I adore them and had to buy a wooden one to bring home!

We went on a sunrise hot air balloon trip across the Masai Mara, to be honest we didn't see a great deal except plain but the experience was fantastic.

Cheeky...

This cute little pageboy, was nephew to the groom and decided the wedding car was his perfect hideout! He didn't care much for formal line ups either... so he played in the garden with a smile on his face and I caught him just as he was.

Electric cinema engagement shoot with Emma and Ray

The second engagement shoot I did at the weekend took place at the Electric cinema in Birmingham. Emma & Ray are planning a movie inspired wedding, next year that we are shooting, and they got engaged at a cinema, so The Electric really was the perfect location!

The location wasn't pre-planned, but Emma and Ray had come up with the idea the day before so we turned up and just asked if it would be ok. Thankfully the lovely staff were more than happy to help, it was a fast paced shoot (as a film was starting a short while after we turned up) but we got some fun shots which they can incorporate into their wedding planning and finishing touches

Lucy & Lee in Sutton Park

This weekend I headed to Birmingham to do two engagement shoots. Ian was at V festival, doing one on one backstage & interview photographs with the band, so I was shooting solo. The first one was with Lee and Lucy...

We all went for a recce at their gorgeous local church, round the corner from Lee's parents, then onto their lovely venue, before heading to Sutton Park for these shots...

Laila

Last weekend we spent the evening at good friends Jen & Karwai's house. Their daughter Laila was our flowergirl, I had my camera and need no excuse to take pictures of her... she is so gorgeous!

Ellie, Mark and Rupert

We met up with Ellie and Mark this weekend, ahead of their wedding a few weeks time. Ellie and I spent a lovely Sunday morning checking out the stunning Harte and Garter before meeting back with Mark and Rupert (their gorgeous Cocker Spaniel).
It was too good an opportunity to miss, so we all took a walk around Windsor Park with our cameras...

With a dog as cute as Rupert, no props are needed!

Kirsty & Steve's engagement shoot- Epping forest

On Sunday, Ian and I took our first ever trip to Epping Forest, which is surprising as Ian has lived most of his life in Essex.

The forest is the perfect place with hundreds of romantic spots to shoot in. It would be the perfect backdrop for a rock the dress shoot so I may have to persuade one of my couples to trek out there later this year. I will, no doubt, will be returning there for more engagement shoots at some point too.

On Sunday we were shooting an engagement shoot for Kirsty and Steve, whose wedding in October I am shooting in bonny Scotland. The wedding itself is at the most amazing place in the Argyll, 5 star Mr and Mrs smith boutique hotel with a treehouse for the ceremony. It will definitely be one of my more memorable weddings
