More from our Safari honeymoon

As I said in our previous post, being photographers after our wedding Safari was the perfect honeymoon destination for us!

For the Wedding ideas girls on Twitter... another giraffe of course

The view from our private jeep! We safari'ed in style on our honeymoon.

We were amazingly lucky to see zebra migration. It is a rare event, and people who left the day before sat by the river all week to see something we saw on our first day!

Lioness jealousy!

At the end of a hard day, we had sundown cocktails and listened to an old record player and watched the world go by!

No camping for us! Sanctuary Olonana was luxury all the way, four poster beds and molton brown goodies

Asha cottage in Diani beach, was the perfect relaxation after the safari. Its quiet and deserted and run by the lovely John, Dominique (and Anthony Owen). Who treat all guests as part of their family. Its just stunning

(OMG- you will have to show Mr OMG and show him there's nothing rough about safaris)

Now I've bored you all with our honeymoon pictures I'll be back to Wedding, engagements and portraits next time!

SAFARI HONEYMOON

Being photographers on our honeymoon, to us Safari was a natural choice. Neither of us had ever had the chance to go and it really was a once in a lifetime holiday. We found the whole holiday with Magical Kenya (the Kenyan tourist board) and the help of my wonderful travel editor at WEDDING magazine.

The first part of our honeymoon was at Sanctuary Retreats in Kenya. Especially on request here are a few of our photos, more to follow...

Lions really are lovely lazy creatures. We had our own private guide, who was amazing. He found this beautiful pride of lions, no-one else was around so they just lay basking in the morning sun.

The giraffes are a special request for twitter... I adore them and had to buy a wooden one to bring home!

We went on a sunrise hot air balloon trip across the Masai Mara, to be honest we didn't see a great deal except plain but the experience was fantastic.

All the jeeps head back to camp before sundown

Wedding videos

Like many couples when we were planning our wedding we weren't sure whether to have a video of the big day. However when I said this to my family, there was uproar...

"You'll regret it, if you don't"

"It captures all the bits you will miss, as the day goes so quickly"

So I relented and I am so happy I did.

After a trawl around the internet I discovered Fly on the wall. As we had left it so late, I was worried they wouldn't be available but thankfully they were still free (helped by the fact we had a Friday wedding) and their prices were amazing, but they are so great I doubt their prices will stay low for long! Fly on the wall is fairly new to the wedding industry, and I think they will be an instant hit.

I am hoping I get to work with them again soon. If you are looking for a wedding videographer, I would highly recommend them, but I would get it touch quickly as I expect they are going to be very busy soon!

Our video is actually now on their home page... so you can all take a peek!

Our wedding

We tied the knot on Friday and had the most amazing wedding weekend (we had two parties two days running!)
I can't wait to see Emily's photos but in the meantime here's one shot of our big day, by our good friend Lia, who was also set us up on our first date!

Our wedding

Ian and I are getting married this Friday, and like all brides to be I am beyond words excited. We've had our own share of hiccups along the way... including me having an accident and tearing the ligament in my ankle. It's still a little swollen and I have a bit of a limp but I will try to glide down the aisle (in my newly purchased sparkly flat sandals as heels are off the menu!)

We are getting married at the stunning Beauberry House, with just an intimate wedding for our closest family and friends. The next day we are having a massive party in central london and I can't wait!

Photos to follow...

One month to go....

In exactly one month Ian and I are getting married, so I thought I'd share our inspiration for our own wedding. The colour theme is pink and taupe inspired by Martha Stewart weddings fushia and taupe colour boards. I was also inspired by one particular picture I published at the magazine in our real life section. The shot is by Emily Quinton, our photographer...

I'm not sure where the cute flowergirl dresses were from, but I found the cupcake wrappers at Lindys cakes
